Life is Complicated – Keep Play Simple

Having two young children in the house is incredible and exhausting.

Early parenthood is not an easy time, and there are days when you just want to melt into the floor.

Keeping everyone entertained and happy is no easy task!

It doesn’t seem to matter what toys you invest in – the level of need for your attention, your interaction, and your care seems to be the same.

And the reason, of course, is that our little ones need us!

They need us to model interaction, they need to observe us, they want to imitate us – that’s how they learn – through us, and through exploration of movement and of the environment!

Take a look at one fun idea I came up with to use with both of my little ones. It incorporates movement, music, joint attention, turn-taking, problem-solving, vocabulary, and so much more!

And the best part? It took all of 30 seconds to set up, and it allows each of us to engage in a positive way at our own ability level.
